Couch to 5k - Week one completed

C25K running ticker

Back in January I started a Couch to 5k that I was quite happy with.  I ran every day that I should have until April.  Then in April I started making excuses, but I would still run once or twice each week.

In May I moved from Utah to Minnesota and left my running partner behind.  I stopped running and strangely felt bad for doing so.  Finally my boyfriend and I had a talk and he decided he would run with me.  Well, I knew that I could not just pick up and run for 7 minutes straight after not running in a long time, so I am back to the beginning of another Couch to 5K.

All has not been lost though with starting over.  I still have ten hours of running under my belt this year (which is a HUGE deal for me) and could run a full minute, four different times, without feeling sick to my stomach.

A full minute without stopping is a big step for me.  I used to kick myself and was embarrassed, but now I realize what an accomplishment it really is.  Soon enough, possibly tonight even, I will run two minutes straight at least five different times.  I'm excited about pushing my body to do it.

What couch to 5k program did you use?  Were you able to move right along or did you need to repeat weeks?

If all goes well, I will be running my first 5k around Halloween!  Week one is finished and now I am on week two out of eight weeks.  Wish me luck!!
