After the holidays, I will be able to spend a little more time blogging!
This is a very happy time of the year for me for so many reasons, but also holds some very sad memories! Perhaps I should focus on the more positive aspects, but I have not been focusing on such things.
I bought a tiny Christmas tree with fiber optic lights. It is beautiful when it is on and it is night time. It makes me quite happy. The children have decorated it and then re-decorated it more times than I can count. I'm glad they enjoy the tiny tree that we were able to have this Christmas.
On Christmas Eve, I am looking forward to carrying on some family traditions with my sister, her children, and her husband. We will find a pizza place to enjoy some pizza then watch a movie. I found a park on my way home from work this past week that is lit with Christmas lights and many decorations. This park made me smile because in my hometown, every Christmas Eve, we would go to Lincoln Park and look at the decorations. The park in the city where I now live will be the place we will go on Christmas Eve and let the children wander around.
We will drive somewhere that is on a hill so we can see the city lights below then will make our way home. The children will hopefully find that Santa has arrived and will open their presents! After the presents are opened, we will enjoy some orange juice and some doughnuts, then I will happily get into my pajamas! I'm sincerely hoping for a new pair of pajamas.
The pajama tradition started when my mother purchased some glow in the dark frog pajamas for me in 2002. It made me happy! Since then, every year, I have received a new pair of pajamas from my mother or father. I have quite the collection of cute and comfy pajamas.
I hope that whatever you are doing this Christmas season that it will bring you much joy! I know this can be a lonely time of the year for many people and as much as I have a tendency to feel lonely, I am going to try to enjoy the family that I do have around. Maybe some time in the future, I will have a significant other that I can enjoy these Christmas traditions with, but this year, I have a loving sister, her husband, and her children that I adore!
Once again, Merry Christmas! What are some things that you look forward to around this season?
