Weighing in Wednesday: Pleasantly Surprised

I weighed myself last week and was pleasantly surprised.  I have lost about 11 pounds since last time I weighed myself and it has not been as difficult as I have imagined it would be.

Since starting the Weighing in Wednesday, I have set and met quite a few goals.  Some of the goals that have helped me to lose weight are:
  1.  Walk more.  I walk at lunch times, even on colder days, and walked a few laps with my sister.  Walking is something that I am enjoying.
  2. Drink water.  Before starting this segment, Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew were my main liquid intake.  I cannot even tell you when the last time I had drank water was before starting this segment.  Now I do not go a day without drinking at least 24 ounces of water.  
  3. Calorie Counting.  I count my calories, even on bad days, and keep myself accountable.  I am once again teaching myself portion sizes through calorie counting.
I am still 70 pounds away from where I want to be, but I know if I take it once day at a time, that I can get there.  I didn't gain the weight over night and I am trying to convince myself that even if I lose 1 pound a week, that is still 52 pounds a year.  That isn't too shabby!

There have been quite a few people that have cheered me a long and have given me some great tips.  I am always ready to learn more from you or to read what worked for you.
