I flew into the Tri-Cities area of Washington so that I could visit with my brother and sister-in-law before they fly out tomorrow. When they fly out, I will be in charge of their daughter and three sons.
Halloween should be interesting. Valaney is a great planner and let me know where to take them and what we will be eating. She even let me know what the youngest loves in his Halloween bag and what I can help myself too. It will be fun trick or treating with some family this year as I have done for over a decade.
Yesterday we had the opportunity to go to Grandview to a Farm. The children picked out pumpkins and we made some apple cider. I never knew it took 43 pounds of apples to make 3 gallons of cider. We followed the recipe (23 pounds Cameo, 10 pounds Golden Delicious, and 10 pounds Cameo), then washed them, put them through a grinder, then pressed it. I must have drank at least 5 pounds of apples yesterday.
I'm looking forward to visiting some more today, then tomorrow the fun with the 4 children starts. We'll head off to church, eat, and have some fun time visiting.
Wish us all luck that we make it through the 96 hours in one piece!!
