Domestic Violence Hits Home - Guest Post

Domestic violence hits home.... for many children these aren't mere words, but a reality. Domestic violence is an epidemic that is beyond the scope of out of control.

I suffered at the hands of an abuser for many years, but not only did I suffer, but my children suffered the consequences of domestic violence.

Suffer the little children...
In the vast world of domestic violence, it's the child who suffers the worse. Adults over time can heal their wounds(mentally and physically), but a child may carry wounds of abuse into adulthood.
Domestic violence hits home:
It scars a child forever.  A percentage of children who are products of domestic violence may become abusers or may be abused. It's a sad, terrible statistic.

It wounds a child forever. The wounds of a domestic violence child  may never heal. They are opened and vulnerable to more domestic violence.

It tears a child forever. Domestic violence rips family's apart. Sometimes even love and hope can't put them back together.

This month is National Domestic Violence Awareness month.

If you have children and are being abused, please get help. There is hope, there is healing and there is help.

If you know someone that needs help, what are you doing?

When you wear your purple ribbon, remember it's the little children who suffer the most...
