Top 5 of Why I like Surgery

Yep, today is the day I have been waiting for since that fateful day in February when my knee started hurting again.  That darn 2-year-old (that story will come later)... but be sure that a 2-year-old can take you down if one took me down.

Anyway, because I have been looking forward to this third surgery, I thought I should make a Top Five List of great things about having a surgery.

Top Five
  1. Codeine:  It leaves the brain empty and the knee feeling great!  Aww... the blissfulness of not having anything bother you after a surgery for a few days!
  2. Socks:  When you wake up after having a surgery you have such nice, warm socks with the anti-slip socks on your feet.
  3. Accessories:  When I leave the hospital, I will have a brand new accessory with me.  Crutches are awesome if you don't need to use them, if you do; just get an arm pit massage scheduled for later in the day!
  4. Sleep:  I am not sure how many of you have thought about this, but each time I go in for a surgery, I get at least 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep.  The downside is that I wake up each time with someone screaming my name.  I guess they start out calmly, but I have a real reluctance to snap out of an anesthesia induced slumber!
  5. Toasted Blankets:  I think every house should have a blanket warmer in them.  You are anesthetized in the coldest room known to man, then wake up in a little warmer room, and it's cold.  I usually wake up shivering, and ask for a blanket, go back to sleep, wake up and ask for another blanket and then get to relax in some nice toastiness!
Wish me luck!  I have a few blogs scheduled to go out so you won't have to endure my blissful codeine thoughts!

Can you think of anything that I missed on my list?  Please comment to let me know so I have one more thing to feel thankful about as I am healing!
